Bodark Tool & Gear was born from a simple need: finding a dependable, no-nonsense blade for tackling the thick, woody underbrush common in the southern U.S. No frills, no extra overhead for marketing, no fancy packaging or random odds and ends. Just a tool built and ready for hard use.

Back in 2019, after struggling to locate a suitable parang locally or online, we decided to take matters into our own hands. We reached out to manufacturers in Malaysia—where parangs are everyday tools on farms and plantations—and began importing blades built for real work.  

Our parangs are crafted from SUP9A carbon steel. A carbon steel, it's known and used for durability and ease of sharpening. The parangs all have a waterproof HDPE handles designed for a secure grip, even in challenging conditions.

BodarkTool is a small, independent operation based in Texas. We handle everything ourselves—from testing blades on weekend hikes to packing orders in our garage. Our blog, the Campfire Blog, shares our experiences, DIY projects, and tips for outdoor enthusiasts. We don't make posts like we used to, but we're always around to respond to email!
